The New Nigeria Peoples Party-NNPP has affirmed Alhaji Ahmad Umar Tijjani as its candidate for Kaduna Central Senatorial district.
Affirming the candidate, the electoral committee chairman, Colonel Gora Albehu Dauda explained that the candidate emerged unopposed and was unanimously affirmed by all delegates in the zone with the exception of Birnin Gwari. who could not make it to the exercise due to security challenges.
In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Tijjani commended the delegates and pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him.
He assured that he would push for improved security in the zone if elected to the Senate.
In his remark, State Chairman of the NNPP, Mr Ben Kure expressed delight over the smooth conduct of the exercise and assured that the party was poised to address the challenges bedevilling the country, restore the hope of Nigerians and build bridges across all divides.
