Jigawa State Environmental Protection Agency JISEPA has commenced a six day spray against Mosquitoes in Mosques at three local government Areas of the state.

The Acting Managing Director of the agency, Alhaji Suleiman M. Abbas made this known while launching the exercise in Hadejia town.

He listed Hadejia, Ringim and Babura as the benefiting local government areas, adding that the aim of the exercise was to curtail the menace of malaria in the area.

Represented by the Director Environmental Health, Alhaji Adamu Sabo, said the agency had organized a one day workshop for staff of Hadejia and Ringim zones on the importance of keeping the environment clean to avert the spread of diseases.

He urged people to engage on environmental sanitation and personal hygiene to protect themselves from communicable diseases.

Alhaji Suleiman Abbas also called on residents in the 27 local government areas to cooperate with staff of the agency to ensure the clearing of drainages and culverts and its success.

The Director, commended traditional and religious leaders for their efforts towards enlightening their subjects on the importance of keeping the environment clean and tidy.
