Niger Tornadoes FC returns to Minna stadium.

Niger state darling team the Niger Tornadoes football club of Minna will today Sunday returned to the Bako Kontagora stadium Minna for the Nigeria Premier Football League weekday two, home match against the Nasarawa United of Lafia after nine years of playing its home away from home matches in Kaduna and other state.

Chairman Niger Tornadoes, Engineer Ibrahim Dada stated this while addressing members of the Niger state chapter of Sport Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN in Minna, on their level of preparedness for the home match today.

Engineer Ibrahim Dada commended the Niger state Governor Mohammad Umar Bago for his untiring support and understanding in making possible for the Niger Tornadoes to return to Minna to play their home matches after many years of playing their home matches away from the state.

According to him the positive and singular gesture demonstrated by the sport loving Governor is highly commendable which he said would go along way is saving millions of naira hitherto spent by Niger State Government in playing their away matches at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna.

Engineer Ibrahim Dada explained that they spent five point five million naira per the Ikon Allah away match to cover for player and officials hotel accomodation, feeding, allowances and other logistics saying that they would now spend half of this amount for their home matches in Minna.

He however appealed to the Niger Tornadoes supporters and football lovers to always exhibit high level of discipline, patriotism and sportsmanship by shunning all forms of holiganism during their home matches at the Bako Kontagora stadium Minna as in every match there must be a winner and a looser insisting that he is hopeful the Ikon Allah Boys will not disappoint their fans.

Engineer Ibrahim Dada further said the Niger Foods is doing a great job in the provision of flood lights and other renovation work at the Bako Kontagora stadium Minna as well as other aspects and called for collective efforts between the Niger Tornadoes and some private investor’s on sport development to succeed, as government alone cannot do it.

On the issue of employing foreign Coach for Nigeria Super Eagles, the Chairman Niger Tornadoes said there is no need  for any foreign Coach as the current interim Coach Austine Eguaboen is doing a marvelous job and should be encourage to do more.
