Wife of Zamfara State Governor, Huriyya Dauda Lawal has advised wealthy Individuals in the society to give out Zakkat and Endowment to the needy to alleviate their plights.
She gave this advice shortly after presenting rice and cash at Birnin Magaji and Kaura Namoda Emirates.
It will be recalled that Huriyya Lawal had embarked on tour to nineteen emirate councils across the state for zakkat palliative distribution to mitigate the hardship being experienced by the people.
The wife of the Governor emphasized that, three thousand most vulnerable would benefit from the whole exercise.
According to her, two hundred less privileged in each of the emirate would be presented with a bag of rice and twenty thousand naira.
Huriyya Dauda lawal stressed that the present administration is determined to uplift the lives of its citizens through welfare packages.
“People of state are living witness during the last Ramadhan and Sallah celebrations, her office had assisted Muslims with Rice, Clothing materials, Cows, Rams and cash for them to celebrate “Eid” with relative ease”.
She assured of the state government commitment to continue to cater for the wellbeing of the people.
The governor’s wife commended Zakkat and Endowment Board for their tireless efforts in exercising its mandate in the collection and distribution of Zakkat from wealthy individuals.
She further called on those that have the means to give out Zakkat to the Board to do so for onward distribution to the less privileged people.
In a atatement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication to the Governor’s wife Zara’u Musa, Huriyya urged women across the state to continue to support government’s policies and programmes for the overall development of the state.
