President Tinubu Condoles Niger State Over Tanker Explosion

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the Government and people of Niger State following a tragic petrol tanker explosion on the Bida-Agaie-Lapai Road, which claimed the lives of 48 people and livestock.

According to reports from the Niger Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the accident also left many injured and involved a truck carrying cattle and passengers.

In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu, offered his heartfelt sympathies to the families of the deceased and injured, as well as to the owners of shops affected by the explosion.

He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured victims.

President Tinubu commended the swift response of Federal and State Emergency Agencies and praised good-spirited Nigerians who rushed to the scene to assist the victims.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting relief efforts for those affected and directed relevant federal agencies to collaborate with state governments to enhance road safety as well as infrastructure.
