1000 Women Traders Benefit from RHI Empowerment Programme

In a groundbreaking show of support for women’s empowerment, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, launched the The Renewed Hope  Initiative  (RHI) Economic Empowerment Programme simultaneously across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) today.

This historic event marks a significant milestone in the nation’s efforts to promote women’s economic inclusion and empowerment. Kaduna State unites dignitaries in support of the women’s economic empowerment programme.

This initiative empowered 1000 women petty traders across the 23 local government areas of the  state with grants, training, and mentorship. Speakers emphasize women’s crucial role in sustainable development, citing their economic empowerment as vital.

Beneficiaries express gratitude, eager to expand businesses and improve livelihoods. The programme’s launch marks a new era of economic empowerment for Kaduna State’s women, expected to positively impact the local economy.

Grants are disbursed in phases, targeting informal sector women traders first. Training and mentorship components equip beneficiaries with necessary skills to manage and grow businesses.


At the launch, 1000 women received ₦50,000 each, totaling ₦50 million, to support their businesses. This financial boost aims to catalyze growth and development.

The Kaduna State Government pledges support, recognizing women’s critical role in economic growth. This programme marks a significant milestone in addressing economic challenges faced by women petty traders.

With dignitaries’ and stakeholders’ support, the RHI Economic Empowerment programme is poised to make a lasting impact on Kaduna State’s women.
