The Kano State Government has announced that the six-hour relaxation of the curfew from 8am to 2pm will continue on Monday and in the coming days.

According to the state Commissioner for Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye, the decision was made after reviewing the curfew and considering the difficulties faced by the people.

“The government is concerned about the security of lives and properties, and the curfew will continue to be reviewed. When the security situation improves, the decision will be taken for further review,” Dantiye said.

The curfew was initially imposed for 24 hours following the violence that trailed the #EndBadGovernance protests. However, on Saturday, it was relaxed for six hours from 8am to 2pm, and this relaxation will continue in the coming days.

The commissioner added that the decision to relax the curfew is to enable people to go about their normal businesses within the period.

He also extended the condolence of the state governor, Abba Yusuf, to the families of those who lost their loved ones during the protests.
