Govt Basic Education School Yusuf Dantsoho Celebrates Speech, Prize-Giving Day

 

Government Basic Education School Yusuf Dantsoho has celebrated its inaugural Speech and Prize-Giving Day, a milestone event that marked a significant turning point in the school’s history.

 

The ceremony, which took place after a 40-year hiatus, aimed to recognize and reward outstanding students, dedicated teachers, and prominent community members.

 

In his welcome address, the Head Teacher, Mallam Alhassan Miko emphasized the significance of the occasion, stating that it was a momentous day to celebrate the achievements of the school’s best students, who excelled in both character and academics.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of awards to the best students, who were recognized for their exceptional performance in various subjects.

 

The awards included prizes for academic excellence, good behavior, and outstanding leadership qualities.

 

The students were awarded certificates, trophies, and cash prizes, courtesy of the school’s management and generous donors.

 

In her remarks, the daughter of the school’s founder, Hajara Yusuf Dantsoho commended the school’s management for organizing the ceremony, stating that it was a testament to the school’s commitment to excellence.

 

She also announced her initiative to establish a school garden through her Small Homes Farmers Initiative, aimed at promoting agriculture and sustainability among the students.

Hajara Yusuf Dantsoho appealed to the government to provide infrastructural development to the school, emphasizing the need for improved facilities to enhance the students’ learning experience.

 

She also presented scholarships to 30 pupils, covering their secondary school education, a gesture that was widely applauded by the audience.

 

The event featured a vibrant cultural display, showcasing the rich heritage of the community.

The students presented various performances, including traditional dances, songs, and drama, which added color and excitement to the ceremony.

 

Dignitaries in attendance included parents, the district head, and village heads of Unguwar Rimi and Danbushiya.

They commended the school’s management for organizing the event and pledged their support for the school’s future initiatives.
