Protesters Loot NCC Office In Kano

Angry protesters have attacked the Digital Industrial Park of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) in Kano state, carting away state-of-the-art equipment worth billions of Naira.

The centre, which was due for commissioning on Wednesday, August 7, was invaded by the protesters who broke into the offices and made away with the equipment.

Sources said the generator room at the centre was also set ablaze during the attack.

The Digital Industrial Park is one of the six centres established by the federal government to deepen the digital economy by training young Nigerians on digital entrepreneurship.

The attack on the centre has been condemned by stakeholders who described it as a setback for the development of the digital economy in the country.

Similarly, The Kano State Police Command has arrested 13 suspects for vandalizing vehicles at the Kano State High Court premises.

The Commissioner of Police Salman Dogo disclosed this to journalist in Kano.

He said the suspects were apprehended at the court premises.

The CP noted that proactive security measures have been implemented to ensure the safety of residents both within and outside the metropolis.

He explained that the police, in collaboration with other security agencies, are conducting intensive patrols to guarantee the safety of residents.

The Commissioner urged residents to cooperate with security personnel by providing intelligence information on any individuals or groups found in possession of dangerous weapons.
