Nationwide Protest: Commercial Activities Shutdown As Protesters Storm Kano Major Areas

Protesters in their hundreds have shutdown the ancient city of Kano, with shops and filling stations reportedly vandalized, roads barricaded with tyres set on fire.

Among shops vandalized include Sandaraki Super Market, Ruofaida Shops, two filling stations and some small shops along Maiduguri Road and Zoo Road.

Even though most of the protesters were under aged children , security personnel were active in ensuring peaceful atmosphere but are outnumbered.

 

Some security personnel used teargas canisters on the protesters who stormed Government House and other places.

The protesters who were seen commencing their actions from areas  like Gama, Tudunwada, Tudunmurtala, emirs palace road and other similar places,  came out in large numbers with different colors of paints on their bodies.

Other areas which saw young boys carrying dangerous weapons are Hotoro, Maiduguri Road, Ahmadu Bello way and some many other areas.

At BUK road,  underaged children were seen breaking drainage slabs , looting iron rods and other metal bill boards.A

Business activities have closed down with protesters roaming around.
