ICAN Inaugurates Sokoto, District Society Executives

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria,(ICAN) has inaugurated the 5th Chairman of the Sokoto and District Society along other executives.

In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman, Ismaeel Oluwaseun Suleiman, assured to work with his executives as a team so as to move the association to the highest level.

Oluwaseun Suleiman stated that as a new chapter, they would be united in leveraging their strengths, skills, and experiences to drive progress and achieve their goals. “We will navigate this journey together, supporting each other through challenges and celebrating our triumphs,” he said

.”Let us draw inspiration from our collective energy and remain steadfast in our commitment. Together,we will steer our District towards greatness over the next 12 months. Let us persevere, unwavering in our dedication “.

Suleman however, expressed appreciation to the past leaders of the association, stressing that, their sacrifices and contributions have paved way for the growth of the association.

In a valedictory speech, the immediate past Chairman of Sokoto District, Alhaji Sanni Yusuf Olatunji, urged all former executives to continue to support the new executives.

He revealed that, the association has procured land in Sokoto and Kebbi States for the construction of its secreteriat despite financial scarcity.

The Special Guest, Chief of Staff to Kebbi State Governor, Barrister Attairu Maccido, while commending ICAN for their long aged known ethic and professionalism in the history of accounting in Nigeria and their enormous contributions to the economic development of the Country.

Barrister Maccido, urged the association to start conducting their professional examinations for accountant students in Kebbi State to ensure catching them young.

He assured the state government readiness towards supporting the association to capture students in the state to enroll for their professional examinations.
