The Emir of Kauru in Kaduna State, Alhaji Zakaria Ya’u Usman II has reiterated the importance of cooperation among people of different religions and ethnicities to effectively combat terrorism and banditry in the region.

The Emir stated this when he received the traditional title holders who paid him homage at his palace to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, emphasizing that unity and mutual support are crucial in addressing the security challenges facing his domain.

His Royal Highness Alhaji Zakaria Ya’u Usman urged the community to work together, regardless of religious or ethnic differences, to ensure peace and stability.

The Emir’s call comes amid ongoing efforts to tackle the prevalence of violent crimes in the area, highlighting the role of communal harmony in fostering a safe environment.

He highlighted that previously, incidents of violence and crimes were confined to neighboring local government areas, however, these activities are now surfacing in Kauru, leading to intermittent losses of lives, destruction of property, and cases of kidnapping.

Alhaji Zakari Ya’u II acknowledged that while normalcy is gradually returning to the affected communities, the need for continued efforts to combat insecurity remains critical.

He assured that Government at all levels and the Kauru Emirate Council are working tirelessly to bring an end to the menace of violence and crime in the area.

In a statement, the Secretary of the Kauru Emirate Council, Malam Muhammad Sani Suleiman, urged the public to refrain from spreading unfounded stories using social media platforms in the name of the Emirate Council.

According to him, any information from the Emirate must pass through established channels before being disseminated to the public.

He emphasized the importance of accurate information and cooperation in the collective effort to restore peace and stability in the region.
