Kano Govt To Renovate Damaged Digital Industrial Park

Kano State Government has announced plans to renovate and restore the Digital Industrial Park (DIP), which was vandalised and looted during the nationwide protests on August 1, 2024.

The State Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, made the announcement during the visit of the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijjani.

Gwarzo condemned the vandalism, describing it as a setback to the state’s digital development and Nigeria’s technological aspirations .

He assured that measures are being taken to address the situation, including the recovery of stolen equipment by security agencies and local community leaders.

The deputy governor noted that one of the key restoration efforts in place is a comprehensive assessment, noting that the State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure will carry out a thorough evaluation of the damage.

“Prompt Repairs” will commence promptly to ensure the facility is fully operational as soon as possible.

“Commitment to Digital Economy, The initiative aims to restore the facility to its full functionality, emphasising the state’s dedication to building a thriving digital economy.”

The deputy governor urged the public to remain law-abiding in order to help achieve the established objectives.
