Governor Lawal Vows to Assist Families of Fallen Zamfara Guards

Zamfara State government has pledged to take full responsibility of the families of nine members of the Community Protection Guards CPG who were killed by bandit’s in an ambush last week.

The State governor, Dauda Lawal made the commitment at the Emir of Tsafe palace during a condolence visit to the families of the Guards held in Tsafe local government area of the state.

Governor Lawal while condoling the Tsafe Emirate and the families of the brave guards, said their sacrifices would never be in vain.

“I am here today to express my condolences to the emirate, people, and families of our brave guards who were killed in an ambush last week.

“It was a tragic incident that deeply moved us. We witnessed the courageous actions of these guards who risked their lives to protect their people.

According to the governor, immediately after receiving the report, he sent a high-level government delegation led by the deputy governor to offer condolences to the emirate and the affected families.

Governor Dauda Lawal also assured that such incidents would not stop the ongoing onslaught against bandits while the state government is committed to doing everything possible to end banditry in Zamfara State.

He stressed that the state government would fully support the families of the slain guards and also announced donations of money and food to the victims’ families.

Earlier, the Emir of Tsafe, Alhaji Muhammadu Bawa, expressed gratitude to the governor for his consistent support and timely assistance in ensuring the people’s safety.
