Taskforce Committee on Retrieval of Govt Official Number Plates Visits Emir of Hadejia

The Emir of Hadejia, Alhaji Dr Adamu Abubakar Maje has advised members of the public using Government Registration number plates in their Vehicles to desist from such act.

He gave the advice when he received members of the Taskforce Committee to recover Government official number plates in his palace who paid him a courtesy visit.

“Some members of the public who are fond of using Government Registration number plates in their Vehicles are doing so to commit crimes, consequently I am advising the Committee to devise measures for the enforcement of the law in curbing the illegal use of official number plates” the Royal Father said.

Represented by the Galadima of Hadejia, Alhaji Usman Abdul’aziz, the Emir assured the Committee of the backing of his Palace and the entire people of the Emirate.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Committee, DC Tijjani Murtala said, the Committee was set up by Governor Malam Umar Namadi to check the illegal use of Government official number plates by members of the Public.

He said the Committee was in the Palace to pay homage and seek the blessing of the Royal Father.

Represented by DCC Aminu Abba, DC Tijjani Murtala solicited the support and cooperation of the Royal Father to ensure full enforcement of the retrieval of the unauthorized official number plates used by members of Public in the State.

The Chairman of the Committee, frowned at the illegal use of official Jigawa State Government number plates, stressing that henceforth, anybody caught would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

While describing its effects in the face of security challenges currently facing the entire country as damning, the Chairman said his Committee would soon commence thorough checks of any vehicle marked with the Jigawa State Government official number plates to ascertain the genuineness or otherwise of the issuing authority and its users.
