The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has assured that there will be no sacred cows in the military institution.

General Musa, who was responding to a question on the dismissal of Ruth Ogundele from the Nigerian Army during the Arise Television morning show on Thursday, said that the military would not protect any of its personnel from disciplinary action.

He made it clear that reviewing Ogundele’s case would not affect the disciplinary committee’s original findings.

The CDS, who confirmed the possibility of reviewing Ogundele’s case in response to her sexual harassment allegations, expressed confidence that the outcome would remain unchanged.

“If you do well, you are rewarded; if you do badly, you are punished.”

It should be recalled that Ogundele was dismissed after making allegations of sexual harassment against Col. I.B. Abdulkareem.

The army investigation concluded that Ogundele was discharged on verified medical grounds.

However, she disputed these findings and sought legal redress, claiming she was never given the opportunity to appear before the military investigation panel to defend her mental health.

The Chief of Defence Staff refuted her claims, asserting that the case had been thoroughly investigated and proven against her.

“We stand up for our personnel,” he stated, but acknowledged that some issues cannot be overlooked.

He added, “We tried to assist her, but what people don’t realize is that anyone who attempts to help her ends up being maligned by her.”
