The Taskforce Committee set up by the Jigawa State Government to recover official number plates has visited, His Royal Highness the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hamim Muhammad Sanusi.
Speaking at the Emir’s Palace, the Chairman of the Committee, DC Tijjani Murtala explained that, the Committee was set up by Governor Umar Namadi to identify unauthorized official number plates used by Civil and Public officers within and outside the State and to confiscate such plates found on private vehicles.
He said the Committee’s visits to the Emir was to pay homage and seek the blessing of the Royal Father.
DC Tijjani Murtala also solicited the support and cooperation of the Royal Father to ensure full enforcement of the retrieval of the unauthorized official number plates used by Civil and Public officers in the State.
According to him, the committee is eager and ready to receive any advice from the Royal Father to achieve the desired objectives.
Responding, the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hamim Muhammad Sanusi assured the Committee of the backing of his Palace and the entire people of the Emirate.
The Emir explained that most private vehicle owners were using government official number plates to avoid paying taxes, which he described as a threat to the security of the state and as tax evasion.
Alhaji Hamim Muhammad Sanusi thanked the Committee members for the visit and assured all the possible support and cooperation to achieve the desired objectives.
