FG Distributes ₦108B To 36 States

The Federal Government says it has shared one hundred and eight billion naira to the thirty six states of Nigeria to mitigate the impact of banditry, insurgents activities and all forms of natural disasters in the country.

Vice President Kashim Shettima stated this during a visit to the Internally Displaced Persons Camp at Gwada in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger state.

Vice President Kashim Shettima explained that three billion naira has been given to each states of Nigeria to mitigate the effect of flood that had caused havoc in some parts of the country.

He however reassured the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Niger state of  Federal Government commitment to rid their communities of banditry and boko haram insurgents to ensure safe return to their ancestral homes, which he said is a task that must be accomplished within the shortest possible time.

Vice President Kashim Shettima also told the five thousand eight hundred and twenty three IDPs in the camp that the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is working tirelessly to ensure that IDPs not only in Niger state, but in Nigeria as a whole return back to their homes.

” We are here today, along with the Governor of Kwara state and some ministers on behalf of the President that had asked us to tell you that, you are in his mind and that we are here to sympathize with you over the problems of insecurity and flood disaster.

In his welcome address, Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago said there are a total of fourteen camps across the state made up of victims of banditry, flood and communal clashes spread across the state.

Governor Umar Bago told the IDPs in the camp that the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not forgotten them and their plights stressing that they came to encourage and assured them of that to ease their hardship.
