Governor Zulum Reaffirms Commitment To Support Insurgency Victims

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to implementing programmes aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by insurgency victims and other vulnerable groups.

Governor Zulum made this pledge during the unveiling of “The Fifth Verdict,” a compendium showcasing his achievements over the past year.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Bukar Tijani, Zulum emphasized a significant investment in the agricultural sector to enhance food security, noting that substantial improvements in farming activities over the past four years.

He assured continuous support for the teeming farmers with inputs and fertilizer for better yield in this cropping season.

“We have seen an unprecedented farming activities this raining season, young men and women have come out enmasse to farm. They gotten support but is not the maximum support, with gradual return of peace and security more development activities will be carried out ” Zulum said.

The Governor outlined his unique vision and objectives for development, highlighting that his approach is tailored specifically to Borno’s needs, rather than adopting strategies from other states.

He promised to aggressively pursue the rural-urban renewal project in order to fast track development at the grassroot level.

Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Professor Usman Tar and Senior Special Assistant on Media, Honourable Baba Sheikh Haruna said the publication which is fifth in the series has showcased people-oriented projects of Governor Zulum in different sectors such as humanitarian, resettlement and reconstruction, education, healthcare among others.

The unveiling of the 307-page document, which coincided with the Governor’s 55th birthday, includes 22 sections, a scorecard of Zulum’s performance in his fifth year as Governor and detail President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima’s visits to inaugurate innovative, people-focused projects in Borno state.

The publication includes news reports, analyses, features, columns, commentaries, discourses, editorials, selected speeches from May 29, 2023 to May 29, 2024 as well as tribute to the pioneer editor-in-chief late Isa Gusau.
