Nigerians Urged To Imbibe Spirit of Sportsmanship In Elections

Nigerians have been urged to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship during and after elections to ensure peaceful coexistence among the different ethnic groups in the country.

Professor Jeleel Ojuade, Chairman and Coordinator, Interim National Executive Committee, University of Ilorin Alumni Association, made the call while speaking during the election of new executives of University of Ilorin alumni association held in Ilorin the kwara state capital.

 

He said maintaining peace in the election of leaders would go along way in bringing sanity in our polity.

Professor Ojuade explained that both leaders and the led should always explore the avenue of dialogue in resolving difference.

He said election should not be taken as a do or die affair.

Professor Ojuade expressed joy with the peaceful conduct of University of Ilorin Alumni election.

He urged those elected to carry all members along to ensure peace and development of the university.

In a remark, Ayobami Gbefaloye, Chairman Ogun state Chapter, University of Ilorin, Alumni, said the election will open new beginning of development among members.

About thirty two chapters of the University of Ilorin alumni association across states of the federation including Federal capital territory Abuja Participated in the election.
