FG Donates Over 2000 Bags Of Rice To Youth Organization In Kaduna

The Arewa Youth Forum has received over Two Thousand Bags of Rice donated by Federal Ministry of Finance to ease economic hardship faced by residents of Kaduna State under the Federal Government food security Programme.

President of the Arewa Youth Forum, Mallam Ahmed Mohammed Zaggi stated this while presenting the food items to various benefitting groups for onward distribution to less privileged persons in their respective areas across the state.

It was a moment of relief to leaders of the different groups who as early as Nine o’clock in the morning troop to venue for the collection and subsequent distribution of the long awaited food item from the government.

Mallam Ahmed Mohammed Zaggi explained that it was a gesture by the federal government to provide palliative to the populace and advised leaders of the various groups to ensure that the items gets to the grassroots to alleviate suffering of the masses.

According to Mallam Ahmed Zaggi, there would be no need for people to protest in the first instance if such interventions were felt by the people and urged government to always engage the services of Civil society Organizations in food distribution so that it will get to those that need it most.

Receiving the items, representatives of Jamaatu Nasril Islam, Mallam Ibrahim Mohammed Maheh and that of Fityanu Islam, Mohammed Tukur expressed satisfaction with government efforts and prayed for sustainability.

Also speaking, representatives of Christian Association of Nigeria, Reverend Jeremiah Moses and Reverend Alhamdu Tukura said food security was biting hard stressing that widows and orphans will be given priority in the distribution.

According to Board Chairman of the Arewa Youth Forum, Mallam Gambo Ibrahim Gujungu the event was in variance with political drive whereby government palliative does not get to those that deserve it urging to Federal Government to channel palliative distribution to Civil Society Organizations who will do due diligence in the Distribution.

Beneficiaries of the food item include National Council of women society, Jamiyar Matan Arewa, Grassroots Community Groups, JNI, CAN, Civil Society Organizations and some individuals.
