Nigerians have been urged to continue to support the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria-DICON to achieve its mandate of meeting the defence needs of the Armed Forces.
Chief Imam of 1010 workshop, 1 division Nigerian Army Kaduna, Captain Ibrahim Abdalla Bassey made the call on Friday in commemoration of sixtieth anniversary of the DICON, held at comilla cantonment mosque, 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna.
The Chief Imam, who dwelt his sermon on the need for Nigerians to be patriotic, noted that DICON’s contributions to the defence needs of the Armed Forces have been a stabilizing factor for Nigeria.
Captain Ibrahim Abdalla Bassey therefore called on Nigerians to continue to support the corporation in its quest to ensure the protection of Nigeria’s territorial integrity against all forms of threats.
The clergyman also advised Nigerians to remain patient and obedient to constituted authorities for national development.
The event had in attendance, senior military and civilian staff of the DICON, commanders and commandants of Army units and formations within and outside Kaduna State, as well as retired senior officers.
Highpoint of the event was a prayer session shortly after the two unit prayer for the progress and development of the DICON, Kaduna State and Nigeria as well as a photograph session.
