The Deputy Speaker House of Representatives Mr Benjamin Kalu, has received about ninety members of various political parties who decamped to All Progressive Congress APC in his home state, Abia State.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Mr Levinus Nwabughiogu, says the decampees are card carrying members of the LP, PDP and YPP before joining the ruling party APC.

Receiving the decampees in his constituency, Bende during a visit, the Deputy Speaker commended them for their decision to join the ruling party and appreciated his constituents for their support and understanding.

Mr Benjamin Kalu explained that APC under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has healed the wounds of the people of south east sustained during the civil war by signing the South East Development Commission (SEDC) bill into law 54 years after.

The Deputy Speaker, maintained that the Commission like others was created to provide job opportunities and address the basic infrastructural needs of people in the region as one of the cardinal points of the President Bola Ahmad Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.

“What you have come to do today is to show that you appreciate what APC is doing. The president has answered our prayers and gave us SEDC your children will get jobs there.”

Mr Benjamin Kalu, however urged his people to keep supporting President Tinubu, as a leader who has the nation at his heart and working tirelessly to deliver dividends of democracy to the citizens.

The Deputy Speaker concluded the event with the distribution of bags of rice, fertilizers to support the people in agriculture as well as some cash donations to support them economically.
