Taraba State government says all is set for the commissioning of the Kefas Palliative Market in the state capital.

The state Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Barrister Zainab Usman Jalingo disclosed this while briefing journalists at the Exco chamber of Government House Jalingo.

She said the palliative market which will be commissioned in October 2024, is one of Governor Agbu Kefas’s policies aimed at cushioning the effects of the current hardship that people are facing.

According to her, when commissioned, people will be purchasing farm produce at a subsidized rate.

Furthermore, Barrister Zainab Usman Jalingo revealed that the state government will also establish an Education Trust Fund besides its free education policy.

She informed that when established, the Trust Fund will enable Tarabans who are studying both within the country and diaspora to get loans.

Additionally, the Commissioner noted that the policy is also aimed at bringing succor to the people of the state, considering the economic hardship Nigerians are facing.

At the recent stakeholders meeting, Zainab Jalingo acknowledged that the protest is constitutional which informed the decision of Governor Agbu Kefas to summon the meeting to solicit support from them including the youths.

It is worth noting that the Governor’s call yielded a positive result as the protest was demonstrated peacefully without recording any casualty or destruction of property across the state.
