Police Relaxes Curfew In Borno

The Borno state Police Command has relaxed the twenty four curfew imposed in the state from 12 noon to 3pm.

In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASA Kenneth Daso said the curfew was relaxed to enable muslim faithful observe the Friday prayers.

According to the statement, the decision was taken after the state government and heads of security agencies review the security situation in Maiduguri and other parts of the state.

“Inview of the prevailing security situation. the Borno State Government and heads of the state Security agencies after due consultation have relaxed the curfew imposed in the state from 12pm to 3pm.This is to enable Muslim faithfuls to observe Juma’at prayer” Daso said.

The statement advise members of the public to observe the Juma’at prayers at Mosques closer to their communities.

It added that the curfew will continue to be enforced from 3pm on Friday to 6am on Saturday, thereafter people are  expected to go about their lawfil business and shun all forms of violence.

The security agencies assured people of  the State of adequate protection of lives and property for sustainable peace and safety.
