The Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission, Barr. Muhyi Rimingado, has pledged to guard against artificial price hikes of commodities to mitigate the sufferings of the people.

Rimingado made this known during a press conference at the commission’s headquarters in Kano.

He said the commission has received complaints about the hike in bread prices despite the reduction in the price of flour.

The Commission has engaged with bread bakers and flour dealers to ascertain the cause of the price hike and is mediating between the parties to ensure that the price hike is not artificial.

Rimingado emphasized that the commission is working to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the increment and plans to beam its searchlight on other commodities to mitigate the sufferings of the people.
