Economic Reforms Will Remain Unbiased, Tinubu Assures Nigerians

Written by Yusuf Zubairu

President Bola Tinubu has reassured Nigerians that the ongoing economic reforms will not be manipulated by any interest group, emphasizing that his campaign is self-funded without obligations to any individual or institution.

Speaking at the State House during a visit from a delegation of Muslim leaders led by Sheikh Bala Lau, President Tinubu attributed his election victory to divine intervention, careful planning, and widespread support from Nigerians.

“I have no cabal. I have no sponsors. The money I spent on the elections was my fortune. At some point, the odds were against me; banks were locked. But Allah, the Almighty God, said I will be the President. Mine is to now follow the leading and teaching of the Almighty God,” the President stated.

He emphasized the importance of a good conscience as a defence against corruption and underscored the need to prioritize the future of the nation’s children by teaching them the values of good and responsible citizenship.

President Tinubu also addressed the issue of protests, cautioning that those driven by anger and hate could lead to violence and hinder the country’s progress.

He highlighted the government’s efforts to rework the social welfare scheme to reach the ward level, providing allowances to the poor and vulnerable.

The President also mentioned the introduction of student loans for school fees, monetary support for education, and consumer credit for citizens to purchase cars and houses with gradual repayment plans and also noted that the minimum wage had been increased by over 100 per cent.

The President criticized the sponsors of protests, suggesting that they prioritize their ambitions over national interest and lack a true understanding of citizenship.

In response, Sheikh Bala Lau assured the President of continued support through prayers and increased public sensitization, emphasizing the importance of peace and guidance for the nation.
