Northern Senators Forum Commends Tinubu Over NWDC

The Northern Senators Forum have commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing North West Development Commission Bill into Law.

In a letter of appreciation signed by the chairman of the Forum, Abdulaziz Yar’adua said this landmark achievement has instilled renewed confidence in the administration’s commitment to the development and prosperity of the nation, particularly the North West region.

He pointed out that the visionary leadership of President Tinubu has rekindled hope for enhanced security in the zone, which has been plagued by insecurity in recent times.

Yar’adua further explained that the establishment of the Commission is a significant step towards tackling the root causes of insecurity, such as poverty, unemployment, and lack of opportunities.

The chairman of the Forum also said the Commission’s focus on addressing food shortages and boosting agricultural production will have a direct impact on the lives of the people, who have been struggling to access basic necessities.

“Your administration’s efforts to revitalize the agricultural sector will not only ensure food security but also create jobs and stimulate economic growth.”

He expressed delight that the Commission will prioritize solving the problem of out-of-school children in the region, considering the fact that Education is the bedrock of development, and president Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring that all Nigerian children have access to quality education is truly commendable.

The Chairman of the forum pointed out that  the revival of the cotton industry in the North, which was once a thriving sector, will have a significant impact on the economy and certainly the potential for job creation, wealth generation, and industrial growth is enormous.

In a related development, the deputy senate president, Barau Jibrin has commended President Bola Tinubu for assenting the Bill establishing the commission.

The Deputy President of the Senate believed that the commission would help to drive development across the seven states in the zone .

Senator Barau explained that he sponsored the bill as one of the federal lawmakers from the zone with sole aim of restoring development to the area after years of Boko Haram insurgency in some parts of the zone, armed banditry and other anti development criminality.

He assured that stakeholders in the zone, would collaborate to make the commission serve the purpose for which is intended for and called on Nigerians to continue supporting President Bola Tinubu in his development strides across the country.

” The Commission will assist in the development of geo – political zone in terms of required infrastructure, production of food. President Tinubu has no doubt, shown that he loves the people and in the light of this, I called on Nigerians to be patient with Mr President” he added.
