Jigawa Govt Inaugurates Taskforce to Recover Official Number Plates

The Jigawa State Government has inaugurated 11 member Taskforce Committee for the retrieval of Government Official number plates.

Inaugurating the Committee, the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim charged members of the Committee to work hard towards justifying the confidence reposed in them.

He said that the Committee’s mandate included identifying unauthorized official number plates used by civil and public officers within the State, organizing the confiscation and penalization of such plates found on private vehicles, and educating officers about the repercussions of using official plates on private cars.

Furthermore, the Committee was assigned the responsibility of providing additional recommendations to help the government tackle the widespread misuse of official plates both within and beyond the State.

Malam Bala Ibrahim said the Committee members include Tijjani Murtala, DC Operations for the Police at the Jigawa State Command Headquarters, as Chairman; A. Abba, Co-Chairman and DC Operations for the FRSC at the Jigawa State Command Headquarters; a representative from the 26 Armoured Brigade of the Nigerian Army; and Nura Ahmed, representing the Department of State Security Service.

Other members are Hamisu Adamu, Director of Road Taxes at the Jigawa State Internal Revenue Service; Haladu Lawan Limanchi, a representative of NSCDC, Jigawa State Command; Aminu I.K., Director of Vehicle Inspection at the Ministry of Works and Transport; and Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse, Public Relations Officer at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State.

Similarly, Alhassan Sani Special Assistant to the Government SSG’s Office as member, Salisu Ya’u Secretary Director Special Services Special Service Directorate SSG’s office and Yakubu Muhammad Asst. Sec Chief Admin Officer Special Service Directorate SSG’s office.

Responding, on behalf of the Committee members, the Chairman of the Committee, DC Tijjani Murtala, thanked the State Government for finding members of the Committee worthy to conduct the Assignment and assured that they will justify the confidence reposed in them.
