Reconsider Sen Ndume’s Removal as Chief Whip, Southern Borno Association Urges Senate, APC

The Southern Borno Development Association has appealed to the leadership of the senate and the ruling party APC to review their decision on Senator Ndume’s removal as chief whip of the 10th senate.

Chairman of the movement Malam Muhammad Ibrahim Bi’u made the appeal when he led members of the Association on a peaceful protest and presentation of letter to the leadership of the Senate in Abuja.

Malam Muhammad Ibrahim said the decision of the Senate had shortchanged the zone, as it has no representation in leadership positions either in the Federal Executive or the National Assembly.

He emphasized that Senator Muhammad Ali Ndume had been a dedicated fighter who contributed immensely to the formation of the APC and the election of the current leadership of the 10th Senate.

He mentioned that Senator Ndume’s advice played a role in motivating the federal government to implement reforms, including the approval of a 70,000 naira minimum wage and the distribution of grains to state governors, senators, and House members to alleviate the suffering of the Nigerian masses.

He advised the leadership of the ruling party, APC, to review its stance by giving Senator Ali Ndume a fair hearing to determine whether he has violated the party’s regulations, rather than instructing the Senate to follow the party’s recommendation in its decisions.

He, however, advised the leadership of the ruling party, APC, to review its position by giving Senator Ali Ndume a fair hearing to determine whether he has breached the party’s regulations, rather than directing the Senate to follow the party’s recommendation in making its decisions.

Although the Senate is on recess, the Chairman of the Association, Muhammad Ibrahim, was led by the Sergeant-at-Arms to deliver the letter to the office of the Senate President for further legislative action.
