Kano HNB Marks Milestones Achievements, Rewards Staff

Kano state Commissioner of Health Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf has urged zonal directors and directors to ensure judicious use of medical items and consumables provided by the state government.

Dr. Abuabakar made the call while handing over cleansing materials to forty four facilities during an event to commemorate one year in office of Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf and achievements of Hospitals Management Board held in Kano.

He pointed out that the state government would do all it takes to deliver on its promises to ensure quality healthcare delivery.

The commissioner noted that, agencies and departments under the state ministry of health are working tirelessly to improve the sector, saying that any staff found breaking the rules will face the consequences.

“Complaints should be channeled to the servicom officers in the hospital”.

The Executive Secretary Kano state Hospitals Management Board HMB Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda said the state government has recorded tremendous achievements in the last one year.

According to him, as part of efforts to revive the health sector , various hospitals were renovated and upgraded including Hasiya Bayero Paediatric Hospital and Murtala Muhammad Specialist hospital among others.

He stressed that other interventions include the approval for the procurement of mammogram X-ray CT scan and MRI, provision of medical consumables and vehicles for patients transportation.

Dr. Nagoda said 926 staff of the hospital management board were reintegrated into the CONHESS and CONMESS salary structure, while sixty five doctors were sponsored for residency trainings within and outside the state.

“Nurses, midwives, and CHEWS will be posted to AKTH to specialize in dialysis, neurology, and other areas.”

The Kano state Head of Service, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa urged workers to be dedicated, transparent, and accountable to ensure effective service delivery.

He said the state civil service was committed to rewarding hard work and called on civil servants to maintain the tempo through unity and sense of purpose.

Highlights of the occasion include the distribution of cleansing items to the facilities, launch of a magazine, and an award presentation to deserving staff of the Kano State Hospitals Management Board (HMB).

Radio Nigeria reports that the event organized by the Kano State Hospitals Management Board HMB witnessed a large turnout of heads of government agencies and parastatals under the Ministry of Health and relevant stakeholders.
