Former Senate President Anyin Pious Anyin has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State announced this during a formal visit to President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja.

Governor Hope highlighted that Anyim alignment with APC is expected to strengthen the party’s influence and contribute to progressive governance, especially in the southeastern part of the country.

During the visit, discussions included the recent local government elections in Ebonyi State, where APC’s performance was commendable.

Governor Hope noted that the absence of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the main opposition, raised questions about their current influence in the region.

He emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort in tackling the country’s challenges, urging all political figures to prioritize national peace and progress and to avoid unwarranted protests that could destabilize the country.

The former Senate President Anyim Pious Anyim stated that he decided to join APC to contribute to the development of the nation.

The former Senate president’s integration into APC is viewed as a strategic move to enhance the party’s vision for Nigeria’s future, underscoring the party’s dedication to inclusive governance and addressing the needs of all Nigerians.
