Niger State Youths Advised to Shun Protests

Youths in Niger State have been urged to resist any temptation to join protests that could disrupt the peace and development currently enjoyed in the state. Special Adviser to the Niger State Governor on Political and Strategy matters, Alhaji Mohammed Nma Kolo, issued this advice in a statement from Minna. He stressed that even though youths have pledged not to participate in such protests, it is important to remind them to stay firm in their resolve.

Alhaji Nma Kolo emphasized that the state government requires the support of all stakeholders, especially the youth, to achieve the New Niger Agenda set by Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, aimed at accelerating the state’s development. He called for unity and cooperation from political stakeholders to help the administration deliver genuine democratic benefits to grassroots communities.

He praised Governor Umar Bago for his commitment to transforming Niger State through people-oriented projects and urged residents to support these efforts. Highlighting the government’s focus on peace, security, and infrastructural development, Alhaji Nma Kolo noted that collective contributions are essential for achieving meaningful progress.

Addressing recent plans for protests by unidentified groups, Alhaji Nma Kolo warned stakeholders against supporting such actions, given the inclusive approach of the current administration, which considers all ethnic, political, and religious affiliations. He assured that the government remains committed to overcoming challenges and delivering on its promises, as evidenced by the positive outcomes of the recent town hall meeting where stakeholders, particularly the youth, rejected the proposed nationwide protest.
