FRCN Dissociates Self From Inappropriate Comment On Social Media

The attention of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) has been drawn to a recent social media post that has caused widespread concern and condemnation.

The post, which made an inappropriate and unacceptable comment referencing the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is believed to have been made by a person purportedly associated with FRCN.

FRCN Director General, Dr Mohammed Bulama, in a statement, condemns the content of this post and any form of incitement, hate speech, or irresponsible use of social media.

The Director General said such comments do not reflect the values and principles of FRCN, which are to uplift the people and unite the nation with the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and respect in all operations and public communications.

The statement reads, “We take this matter very seriously and have initiated an immediate and thorough investigation to ascertain the identity of the individual responsible for this post. Appropriate actions will be taken in accordance with our policies and the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

It further states that FRCN remains dedicated to its mission of Uplifting the people and Uniting the Nation.

“We assure our listeners, stakeholders, and the general public that we are taking all necessary steps to address this issue and prevent any recurrence in the future”. The Director General added.
