Over 1 million Candidates Sit For NECO/SSCE

Over One Million candidates are sitting for the ongoing 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination, (SSCE) Internal, conducted by the National Examinations Council (NECO).

The Registrar of NECO, Professor Dantani Wushishi stated this after monitoring the examination at some centres in Enugu State.

Professor Wushishi who expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the examination so far, said that reports received from across the Nation indicated that the examination was going on smoothly.

He attributed the success to the various measures put in place to prevent malpractices and ensure a seamless exercise.

The Registrar explained that he had monitored the exercise in Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Abia, Imo, and Anambra States to have first-hand Information on the Conduct of the examination.

Professor Wushishi disclosed that the examination was also being held in Togo, Benin Republic, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Niger Republic, Cote d’Ivoire, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Registrar of NECO explained that the extension of NECO examinations to other countries indicates the wide acceptance of NECO Certificates across the world.

The 2024 NECO SSCE commenced on 19th June and will end on 25th July 2024.
