Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation Warns Against Mass Protest

Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation has expressed deep concern over the country’s current socio-economic situation, characterized by high inflation, skyrocketing prices, and widespread hardship.

In a statement signed by its Director-General, Dr. Abubakar Gambo Umar, the foundation urged citizens to refrain from mass protests, citing the risk of exploitation and violence. Instead, it advocated for dialogue and collaborative action to address the country’s challenges.

The foundation called on leaders and influencers to engage with youth and encourage peaceful means of addressing grievances. It also emphasized the need for substantive dialogue between religious, political, and traditional leaders and the government to find lasting solutions.

The foundation stressed the need for governments to implement robust employment programs, poverty eradication initiatives, and youth engagement in agriculture and SME activities. It also demanded decisive action to bring down food prices and ensure availability and affordability for all citizens.

Dr. Abubakar Umar reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to promoting dialogue, peace, and holistic development in Nigeria, and offered support to efforts aimed at addressing the country’s pressing issues.

By urging a peaceful and collaborative approach, the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation seeks to promote a more inclusive and prosperous society for all Nigerians.
