Hajj2024:Kaduna Official Returns Missing Phones Worth N4 million

An official of Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Yaú Muhammad Inuwa has done the state proud, when he handed over missing mobile phones worth N4 million to the owner at the King Abdul Azeez International Airport Jeddah, during the return flight to Nigeria.

A press statement issued by the spokesperson of Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Malam Yunusa Mohammed Abdullahi on Sunday said the owner of the mobile phones, expressed gratitude to Alhaji Yaú for returning them to him, adding that he lost the phones while waiting to be screened at the Airport.

Sheikh Muhajjadina said he left the phones on his seat, thinking they were in his pocket, when it was his turn to be screened, adding that he was alarmed when he discovered that the phones were not on him.

According to Sheikh Muhajjadina, the mobile phones contain vital documents and information and they are expensive iPhone 5 and iphone 15 Promax models.

‘’The airport security prevented us from going downstairs where we sat earlier, to find out if the phones were still there. They insisted that once passengers are screened, they can’t leave the boarding area.

‘’We were in a dilemma on what to do, then a Kaduna State Pilgrim Agency official, approached us and declared that he found the phones where we had earlier sat before we were called for screening,’’ he said.

Sheikh Muhajjadina who is a member of Kano State Hajj Tribunal, further said that he was elated when the phones were returned to him, just as he prayed to Allah to reward Alhaji Yaú abundantly for his good deed.

Also speaking, a Board member of Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Tijani Sani Mai Hula, praised Alhaji Yaú, adding that Hajj officials of Kaduna State have been exhibiting this kind of exemplary conduct.

‘’After we returned from Muna, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria(NAHCON) mention people who returned missing items of fellow pilgrims. Kaduna State Hajj officials were especially mentioned,’’ he said.

Alhaji Tijani Mai Hula who is also the leader of Hajj preachers of Kano State, said that Alhaji Yaú’s conduct is worthy of emulation by not just Hajj officials but all pilgrims.

In his remark, Alhaji Yaú Muhammad Inuwa who is the Pilgrims Registration Officer of Giwa local government of Kaduna State also Jeddah Coordinator for the return journey disclosed that he did not only found the two missing phones of the Kano State pilgrim but also seven bags of other people.

Speaking on how he found the owner, he said that he saw a group of people lamenting over the loss of mobile phones at the boarding area of the airport.

’I asked them the model of the phones and what they told me corresponded with the ones that I picked at the screening area. So, I handed them to the owner,’’ he added.

Alhaji Yaú said that what he did was in line with his duty as a Hajj official, adding that pilgrims should watch over their belongs and personal effects, especially passports, at the Airport.
