Fire Guts Emir of Kano’s Palace

A fire outbreak destroyed the throne air conditioners and other valuables at the Outer Court of the Kofar Kudu Palace of the Emir of Kano in the early hours of Saturday.

According to a statement signed by the Chief of Staff to the Emir, Munir Sanusi Bayero (Danburam Kano), said no casualties were reported and the damage was minimal. He assured that the palace is taking all necessary measures to ensure the security and safety of the palace and its occupants.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway, and steps are being taken to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

The affected area is where the Emir holds court every Monday. The incident has raised concerns about the security and safety of the historic palace.

The Kano State Fire Service was not notified of the incident, as no calls were received at their centres.

The palace administration has assured that they are committed to ensuring the safety of everyone in the palace and will take all necessary steps to prevent such occurrences in the future.

The incident Is currently under investigation, and anyone with information about the fire is urged to come forward.
