Nigeria’s Climate Action, Green Initiatives Spotlighted at Strategic Events

The Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, Ajuri Ngelale, has spotlighted Nigeria’s commitment to climate action and green industrial activities in a series of high-profile engagements.

Mr Ngelale stated this to a network of people-centered NGOs, highlighting Nigeria’s climate action initiatives and green industrial projects at the launch of Care Nigeria’s Country Strategy 2024-2030 at the TransCorp Hilton, Abuja.

He Later, hosted Mr. Massimo DeLuca, the European Union’s Head of Cooperation in Nigeria, and his team.

The discussions focused on advancing EU-Nigeria cooperation in green industrial investment, local capacity building, and a comprehensive feasibility study on Nigeria’s wind corridors and other renewable energy sources.

Ajuri Ngelale also met with Mrs. Heidi Larson and Sir (Prof) Peter Piot, a renowned Belgian microbiologist who discovered the Ebola virus in 1976.

They explored opportunities in Nigeria’s value chain localization and the industrial link between healthcare and renewable energy technologies.

He concluded with a celebration of France’s National Day at the French Embassy.

The Special Presidential Envoy, similarly, joined Kwara State Governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), and Mr. Xavier Muron, Country Director of the French Development Agency (AFD), at the event.

These engagements underscore Nigeria’s proactive stance on climate action and its drive towards sustainable industrial development.
