NGF Chairman Abdulrazaq Hails S’Court Ruling on LG Autonomy

The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), and Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman, says they welcome the ruling of the Supreme Court on Local Government Autonomy.

He however said the Attorney Generals of the respective States had applied for the enrollment of the court order to enable them to study it carefully.

Governor AbdulRazaq, who came with the Governors of Imo and Jigawa States to meet with President Tinubu, said Governors were happy with the local government autonomy, as it would relieve them of the burden on their shoulders.

On how the judgement would affect the finances of his administration, Governor AbdulRazaq said his government had never tampered with local government funds, therefore it would be business as usual.

He also said they met and discussed with the President on issues pertaining to his discussion with the organised labour on the Nature of the Minimum Wage, the Supreme Court ruling, and other national issues concerning states as well.
