Written by Basirat Memudu

In response to the ongoing insecurity in Zamfara State, Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration has imposed a ban on motorcycle movements across all 14 local government areas from 8 PM to 6 AM.

This measure, which will take effect on Monday, July 15, 2024, is aimed at improving security in the region.

The decision was reached during a security council meeting held today in Gusau, chaired by Governor Lawal.

The state government stressed that the ban is strictly for security purposes and is not meant to target any individual or group.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media (Broadcast), Malam Mustapha Jafaru Kaura conveyed the announcement, highlighting the urgency and necessity of the order to reduce criminal activities often associated with nighttime motorcycle use.
