RMAFC Seeks Jigawa’s Support for Commission’s Bills

The Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) is seeking the Jigawa State Government’s support in urging National Assembly members to to support the Commission’s bills presently before the House.

The Federal Commissioner of the Commission, representing Jigawa State, Hajiya Hauwa Umar Aliyu Birniwa made the plea when she visited the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim in his office.

She highlighted two key bills: one advocating for joint funding from the Federal, State, and Local Governments for improved performance in the 2023 appropriation bill, and another seeking to reinforce the Commission’s mandate and powers in monitoring revenue generation and disbursements for the Federal Government.

Hajiya Hauwa Umar Aliyu also informed the SSG about the establishment of a RMAFC state office in Dutse and other states to guide State and Local Governments on Internal Revenue Generation, Budget, and Public Finance.

The Federal Commissioner emphasized her commitment to ensuring Jigawa State and its Local Government Councils receive their due shares and praised Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi for his support to the Commission.

She commended Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi for the support he has been giving the Commission and assured the Commission’s continues support and cooperation to the Jigawa State Government to achieved the desired objectives.

Responding, the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim, expressed gratitude for the visit and the support provided by RMAFC.

He congratulated Hajiya Hauwa Umar Aliyu on her appointment and reaffirmed Jigawa State’s commitment to collaborating with RMAFC to enhance its internally generated revenue (IGR).

In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the SSG’s office, Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse, the Federal Commissioner was accompanied by the State Accountant General, Alhaji Abdullahi S. G Shehu, Directors from the Ministry of Finance, and the State Coordinator for RMAFC’s Jigawa office.
