Nigerian Army Conducts Medical Outreach Programme In Tudun Biri Community

The Nigerian Army has re-iterated its commitment towards enhancing the well-being of Nigerians.

General Officer Commanding One Division Kaduna, Major General Landers Saraso stated this at the flagg-off ceremony of a medical outreach programme in commemoration of Nigerian Army’s One hundred and sixty first years anniversary, held at Tudun biri community in Igabi LGA.

 

 

 

 

Major General Landers Saraso explained that the programme was a shining example of Army’s dedication to the health and wellbeing of citizens, as well as offering essential medical services.

He pointed out that the medical outreach was part of military tradition designed to offer humanitarian services to host communities in order to further foster cordial relationship and co-operation.

The GOC disclosed that the Army had been providing security and other related services to the community since the operational mishap that led to the loss of many lives and property last December.

General Saraso assured residents of Tudun biri community of Army’s resolve to further strengthen the already existing cordial relationship.

Also speaking, Kaduna State Commissioner for health, Hajiya Umma Ahmed expressed delight over the gesture, stressing that  it had brought succour to the people.

 

Represented by a Director at the Ministry, Mrs Naomi Kukah, the Commissioner urged the Army to extend the gesture to other communities in subsequent events.

In a remark, Executive Chairman of Igabi LGA, Alhaji Jabir Khamis advised the residents to adhere strictly to the medical instructions, so as to safeguard their health.

 

The Village head of Ifira in Tudun biri community, Malam Balarabe Garba, also appreciated the Nigerian Army for identifying with them and urged residents of the community to take advantage of the opportunity to receive treatment.

 

Some of the services rendered include eye treatment, blood pressure, diabetes, dental therapy, provision of mosquito nets, among others.

 

A total of three thousand residents benefitted from the medical outreach programme.
