Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger State has honoured his commitment to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) by delivering a truckload of rice and twenty cattle to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Paiko, as pledged at the swearing-in ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream I Orientation Course.

The Governor, on Tuesday, July 2, announced the donation of a trailer load of six hundred bags of rice, twenty cows, and two hundred thousand naira each for the comfort of Corps members serving in Niger State.

During the occasion, Governor Umar Bago also promised to sink five boreholes and provide additional toilet facilities for both male and female hostels to make their service year more comfortable and memorable.

The State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Olayinka Abdulwahab, received the six hundred bags of rice and twenty cattle, which were met with great jubilation by both Corps Members and Camp Officials.

Meanwhile, the process for payment of two hundred thousand naira to the Corps Members is ongoing, while the survey for the construction of the five boreholes and toilets previously announced by Governor Umar Bago has commenced.

The gesture, according to the State Coordinator of NYSC and Corps Members, would no doubt mitigate the challenges faced by course participants during orientation exercises.
