Jigawa State Inaugurates Committees for Khadija University Procurement

Jigawa State Government has inaugurated Technical and Administrative Committees tasked with overseeing the procurement process of Khadija University, Majia.

The inauguration, presided over by the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim, highlighted the role of these committees in advising the state on the feasibility and execution of acquiring and efficiently utilizing the university.

According to Malam Bala Ibrahim, the Administrative Committee will assess the university’s status upon acquisition, recommend operational plans, estimate financial requirements, propose new faculties, and address existing liabilities.

The Secretary noted that their duties also include reviewing academic frameworks, projecting staffing needs, and identifying potential risks.

He further said that the Technical Committee, chaired by the Commissioner of Higher Education, Science & Technology, comprises experts from various fields crucial to evaluating the university’s technical aspects and requirements.

The committees have been given a four-week timeline to submit their comprehensive reports, underscoring the state government’s commitment to advancing its educational infrastructure through strategic acquisitions.

Speaking, the Chairman of the Administrative Committee, Dr. Lawan Yunusa Danzomo, expressed gratitude for the appointment and assured stakeholders of their dedication to fulfilling their mandate.

Radio Nigeria reports that this initiative aligns with Jigawa State’s objective to enhance educational standards and infrastructure under its renewed governance agenda.

A statement by the ANIPR Public Relations Officer, Office of the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse, says the Committees has four weeks to submit their reports.

It also adds that the Technical Committee has the Following members: The Hon. Commissioner Ministry of Higher Education, Science & Technology the Chairman, Commissioner Ministry of Works and Transport and the Vice Chancellor Sule Lamido University, Kafin-Hausa.

Others are Dr. Risalana A. Kanya Technical Adviser on ICT and Digital Economy, Dr. Surajo Technical Adviser, Power and Renewable Energy, the Rector Bilyaminu Usman Polytechnic, Hadejia, and the Rector jigawa State Polytechnic, Dutse, Prof. Idris Sule  Kazaure, Abba Mustapha Yola to serve as the Secretary and Perm. Sec., REPA, Sadiq Muhammad Gana as Asst. Sec and Ag. Director Establishment & Service Matters, OHoCS, Dutse, Jigawa State also a member.

Similarly, the Administrative Committee has the following members: Commissioner, Ministry of Basic Education as Chairman, the Attorney General, ministry of Justice, as member, the Commissioner, Ministry of Finance, Commissioner, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, and the Principal Private Secretary, government House, Dutse equally to serve as an member

Others members are the Director General, Due Process and Projects Monitoring Bureau, the Registrar, Federal University Dutse, Bilyaminu Aminu Shitu, Prof. Mustapha Jarimi, Abdul Ibrahim Secretary, Perm. Sec. Deputy Governor’s Office, Salisu Yau Taura, Asst. Secretary And Director Special Services.
