KSCB Solicits NBC Support To Ban Unlicensed Films, Books

The Executive Secretary of the Kano State Censorship Board-KSCB, Alhaji Abba El-Mustapha has solicited the National Broadcasting Commission’s NBC support in banning all the books or films that are unlicensed in Kano media stations.

He made the call during a visit to NBC which was aimed at rebuilding the existing cordial relationship between the organisations.

El-Mustapha underscored the significance of collaboration between the NBC and KSCB in ensuring strict adherence to regulatory frameworks aimed at promoting decency and upholding societal values.

He urged the state coordinator of NBC to actively support the Board in enforcing laws and regulations, thereby contributing to the overall well-being of the community.

The Executive Secretary further stated that, the board recognizes the pivotal role of NBC in fostering compliance with its guidelines, adding that their dedication and cooperation are integral to the success of board’s Vision and mission.

Abba El-Mustapha therefore maintained that Kano State Censorship Board remains steadfast in its commitment to maintaining moral standards and fostering a socially responsible media environment.

Earlier, the National Broadcasting Commission Kano State Coordinator, Alhaji Adamu Salisu expressed appreciation over the KSCB visit and promised to give all the necessary support and cooperation towards achieving the set objectives.

He also lauded the Board for its relentless efforts in aligning the films industry with the societal norms and values.

Adamu further assured that, the NBC would continue to support KSCB in its endeavors to promote responsible media content in the State.
