Army Organises Reception For Soldiers Wounded In Action

The Nigerian Armed forces has re-assured personnel of its commitment towards receiving the necessary support to augment their sacrifices to the peace and stability of the country.

Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy-NDA, Major General John Ochai gave the assurance at a reception organised in honour of wounded-in-action soldiers, held at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna State.

Major General John Ochai who described the soldiers as the true heroes in view of their sacrifices to Nigeria, explained that one of the ways to honour them was to organise a special occasion to give them a sense of belonging.

He assured them that the Armed Forces of Nigeria was with them throughout their ordeal, and that it would do whatever it takes to ensure that they regain their health back.

Major General Ochai also assured frontline troops in the various theatres of operation nationwide of necessary support in the event of injury or death, and that their sacrifices would never be in vain.

Also speaking, the overseeing Commissioner of internal security and home affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan called on Nigerians to always remember the families of those who lost their loved ones in the fight against terrorism.

In his vote of thanks, the acting Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Colonel Stephen Onuchukwu said the gesture would re-inforce the soldiers to foster an unbreakable bond that would transcend the battlefield.

The event had in attendance, Commanders and Commandants of various tri-service institutions from within and outside Kaduna State.
