IDB Partners Jigawa On Some Developmental Projects

Jigawa State Government has pledged to continue collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank, especially in the areas of education and agriculture.

Governor Umar Namadi made the pledge when a delegation from Islamic Development Bank-IDB, Abuja Area Office, paid him a courtesy call in his office at government house Dutse.

He said with agriculture being the backbone of Jigawa’s economy, they deemed it necessary to work with such institutions as the Islamic Development Bank.

On the education sector, the Governor said there are a lot of challenges, ranging from infrastructure to a lack of enough teachers and teacher training and retraining.

Namadi pointed out that, the state government has recently recruited 3,233 teachers and is in the process of employing another set of J-Teach volunteers.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Dr. Ibrahim Alhaji Umar, said they were in the state for interaction with stakeholders in the education sector.

He said since their arrival, they have visited two primary schools which include Sabon Garin Danmasara and Takur Site.
