Federal Government says the whole of society approach to addressing contemporary security challenges has broadened its horizon on some of the root causes threatening socio-economic development.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stated this during the ceremonial parade and aerial display in commemoration of NAF’s sixtieth anniversary held in Kaduna State.

Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the President identified unemployment, infrastructural deficit, inadequate basic education among others as some of the factors fueling insecurity in Nigeria.

While acknowledging the discomforting economic situation in the country, President Bola Tinubu assured that the temporary sacrifices of Nigerians would soon be a thing of the past, as the country was poised for a sound economic footing.

The President noted that NAF’s sixty years of existence has been a template of building the culture of capacity, sacrifice and patriotism.

He observed that beyond being a stabilizing force in the nation’s quest for order, the NAF had made significant mark on the international scene in the pursuit of regional and sub-regional peace and security.

President Bola Tinubu re-iterated the commitment of the federal government in prioritizing the welfare, needs and modernization effort of the armed forces towards addressing national and sub-regional security challenges.

He disclosed that government had made substantial investment in procuring state of the art platforms and equipment to enhance the capabilities of the Nigerian Air Force.

President Tinubu congratulated the NAF on its diamond jubilee anniversary, and for being a formidable and resilient force in view of the complexities and dynamics of security challenges within and outside the country.

Highpoints of the event was the flying out parade and aerial display of various fighter aircraft.

The event was graced by Defence Ministers, Members of the diplomatic corps, serving and retired Service Chiefs, Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State, Emir of Zazzau and other dignitaries.
