Sultan Urges Muslims to Support Quran Memorization

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has stressed the need for Muslims to support their children in memorizing the Qur’an to contribute their quota to the development of society.

The Sultan stated this during the Graduation Ceremony of Nurut Tilawah International Schools Students Zaria.

Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar explained that if the Muslim community encourages children to memorize the Qur’an, it will reduce social vices and immoral attitudes in society.

He charged the graduating students to put what they have acquired into practice and to advance their studies.

The Sultan reiterated the Sultanate Council’s commitment to supporting the propagation of Islamic knowledge and Quranic memorization.

During his speech, the Emir of Zazzau and Chairman of the school’s committee, Patron Mal. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, expressed satisfaction with the commitment of the school management in educating the society.

In an address, the Chairman of Nurut Tilawah International Schools, Sheikh Tahir Umar, expressed his satisfaction with the performance of the graduates who memorized the Qur’an.

Also, the Director of the school, Nuradeen Umar Tahir, said that about seventy-two students, both male and female, graduated and memorized the Holy Qur’an.

The director pointed out that the school will partner with the prestigious Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, to enroll some of the graduating students.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, donated fifty thousand naira to each of the 72 graduating students.
